One year ago today, Steven Bodner, the dynamic and much-loved Director of Symphonic Winds and co-founder of the I/O Festival, died unexpectedly following a short illness. Students, faculty, and friends in the Wiliams community continue to mourn the loss of this talented and inspiring musician, to whom the Music Department’s 2011-12 season has been dedicated. His passionate commitment to new music lives on at Williams, as proven by this past weekend’s highly successful I/O Festival 2012, led by co-founder Matthew Gold and featuring performances and compositions by student musicians, alumni, and many of Steve’s professional colleagues.
